Conversation with Sai Baba
Can you look at your life from a higher perspective and see your relationships and friendships from a bird’s eye view – or are you always involved? That is the question and this question determines whether you can let go of things and people – or whether you are addicted to them.

Do we really have to let go of EVERYTHING?
Channeled by Jahn J Kassl
From hostel to hostel
“The wise man therefore longs for nothing and no one and does not attach himself to things to which attachment is not due. Turn all your longing and all your heart’s attachment to GOD. For everything else, love a thing as a thing deserves, no more. Love people as the people they are, no more. If you attach your heart more strongly to them, it only speaks of your ignorance of your true nature. Only for a short time can you pretend to own the house you are renting. As soon as the rental period is over, someone else will take it over. If you think about these lines, you will realize that your husband, wife, children, relatives and possessions do not belong to you for long. They only belong to you for a short time.
So why waste your life worrying about these fickle things? Even a millionaire can only eat as much as his stomach can hold, no more.
Man must understand his stay in this world as if he were a traveler who takes refuge in an inn at nightfall. As soon as dawn breaks, he moves on.
He walks towards his goal, from hostel to hostel, taking one stage after another. It is good to see life from this perspective.”

JJK: I opened these inspiring words of Sai Baba today after I woke up. Beautiful! My question: When does love for my loved ones – like wife, family, friends – become a dependency? How can I let go of these existential ties in my daily life? After all, we are there for each other and we enjoy the presence of loved ones. So where is the key to loving your neighbor in freedom?
SAI BABA: The key is within you. Your consciousness is the key. That means:
As long as you remain inwardly focused on GOD and are aware of the transitoriness of your human life in daily life, your perception will remain pure and your charity free of dependencies.
How do you look at your life?
Can you look at your life from a higher perspective and see your relationships and friendships from a bird’s eye view – or are you always involved? That is the question and this question determines whether you can let go of things and people – or whether you are addicted to them.
JJK: When you lose a loved one, that is, when they die, it still hurts. Why is that the case when I can let go inside?
SAI BABA: That is human nature. Grief and joy are attributes in human consciousness and these must be experienced and acted out.
This also defines a person and makes them so special. The decisive factor is whether you get stuck in your grief.
Whether a person can really let go becomes apparent as soon as they lose something valuable. How does a person deal with loss, what do they decide to feel and what is their response to this situation? Before that, everything is pure theory.
LETTING GO – the fashionable words of the times
JJK: Letting go is on everyone’s lips, a buzzword and a dominant theme in the esoteric scene. However, it seems to me that many “gurus” have not even realized letting go themselves. They are just as attached to their disciples and wealth as the established religions are to their believers and their earthly treasures.
SAI BABA: Anyone who has experienced loss knows what it feels like and knows whether they can let go.
People remain involved until they make a new decision by perceiving the soul’s wake-up call and reacting accordingly. There are many preachers, but realized ones are few and far between.
Wisdom from a competent source is a great help to people, but half-truths that are not based on personal experience are not credible to people. Therefore, true gurus must be clearly told apart from untrue masters and true communities of faith from untrue groups. Today it is impossible to permanently fool a person who embarks on a spiritual quest.
Times are changing radically and only what is true will endure in the eyes of man.
JJK: Letting go? We have plenty of opportunities to practice this. Because of the current changes, we are being asked to let go of almost everything.
Is there an attachment apart from GOD? I mean, do we really have to let go of everything?
SAI BABA: Love for all that is – in freedom! You are connected to everything and yet you are unique, infinite and omnipresent consciousness. Letting go of earthly connections and understanding that the true soul families remain connected far beyond the earthly is the experience. What it is all about:
to love and be free, to let go of external appearances and to feel and live the connectedness with all that is within.
Detached from the earthly, the meaning opens up to you, so follow your longing to the Creator.
